Release of components

Components and assemblies (modules) must fully meet the functional and qualitative requirements for the specified use and the agreed lifecycle. For this purpose they are qualified according to agreed stress tests e.g. for ICs after AECQ100 or validated on their robustness according to ZVEI/SAE "Robustness Validation Handbook". The production and test processes must be designed to ensure consistent quality over the entire delivery time.

The following steps are necessary:

1. checking the general suitability in form of a checklist for new components
2. preventive quality assurance according to APQP and/or RV (robustness validation)
3. risk analyses through DFMEA/PFMEA and assessing of critical components for a project (critical parts management)
4. preparing, conducting and following-up process audits according to VDA6.3 or customer specific checklists
5. component and assembly release according to PPAP (AIAG) or EMPB (VDA)
