Control units for the use in autmotives must be reliable for a lifetime of over fifteen years. Errors during this lifecycle should only be random defects, i.e. should not contain any initial- and/or wearout failures.

 

This can only be achieved by a robust design and mature production processes. The components used have to be basically suitable for the required use (automotive components) and must be qualified after the automotive rules. The components, assemblies and control devices are subject to accelerated stress tests, which stimulate the loads during the operation time as realistic as possible.

 

Important requirements for the lifetime assurance are the mission profils and the usage mode. The systems are developed and validated on this basis.


TSQE cooperates with RELNETyX to agree with customers on profiles and to define the stress tests that are necessary. Failure rate analyses or reliability predictions can be performed as a first approach to reliability.
