Tekom (the Gesellschaft für Technische Kommunikation e.V.) is the German professional association for technical communication. It is a platform for the exchange of information and experience and promotes the training and advanced qualification of technical writers, technical illustrators, technical translators and other related professions. With over 8,000 corporate- and individual members it is the biggest European association and cooperates with the world association.
Note:
Walter Schock did further education as a technical writer (a professional training was not possible at that time) and developed a test- and certification method for technical documentation for .the TÜV Südwest in 1994 .He also performed many tests mainly in the mechanical and industrial engineering sector for the TÜV.
